Happy Holidays! Let’s Get Moving
19 December 2016
The holiday season is the reason for a lot of things – but it’s definitely not a good reason to drop your health goals. Here’s how you can stay on top of your healthy game, during the holidays.

Getting the kids involved
Ask any parent what their biggest issue during the school holidays is and they’ll tell you: it’s answering the question: “I’m bored – what can I do?” Adopting a routine of healthy exercise the whole family can get involved with will go some way towards solving this riddle. Check out this post for great ideas on how your whole family can get active together.

Game It Up, Plate By Plate
Of course, a little festive indulgence forms part of the holiday season, but one day off from your eating plan needn’t upset your whole approach. Don’t worry if you’ve overindulged on one day – you can try again tomorrow! Allow yourself a little treat and those days where you’re sticking to rigid plan won’t feel so difficult, after all. But if you’re battling to keep the kids away from the treats table, start with a few games, made with healthy habits in mind. These great online resources can help.

Set Those Goals
Now that you’re off the clock and have a little more time on your hands, it’s a good idea to apply some thought to your health plans for the next year ahead. What would you like to achieve in the next year, health-wise? Are there specific goals you’d like to work towards during 2017 and, what are your plans for achieving them? Set those health goals with your family too, and commit to working on them together. Keeping healthy doesn’t feel like such a chore, when you do it together!
